Reading Doctor

We would like to introduce you to The Reading Doctor. The Reading Doctor intervention is a high quality, bespoke, tuition service, delivered by a qualified Reading Doctor to those who struggle with reading.

It is designed for pupils who have previously received quality teaching, including phonics, but have still not fully got to grips with reading. It might be that they can read but they find comprehension challenging or they don’t particularly enjoy reading.

  • We teach pupils in the way they learn best.
  • We use ‘real books’, carefully matched to the students interests and which are age appropriate.
  • We actively promote real problem solving and help the students know what they have to do when they are faced with unknown words.
  • We use bespoke, dyslexia friendly resources which are perfect for all students.
  • We raise the students' self-esteem.
