16-19 Bursary

We encourage all Post 16 students to apply for the 16-19 Bursary Fund. 

Our Post 16 students, aged 16–19 and in full-time education should be eligible for financial support through our Bursary Fund, designed to help with the costs of continuing education. 

What can the bursary cover? 

  • Transport costs 
  • Books and equipment 
  • Specialist clothing 
  • Educational trips and visits 
  • Residential work experience 
  • Other exceptional circumstances or hardship situations 

Types of Bursaries: 

Vulnerability Bursaries: Regular payments up to £1,200 for students in care, care leavers, or those receiving certain benefits. 

Discretionary Bursaries: One-off payments to support students from families with an annual household income below £25,000 or those facing individual barriers to learning. 

Eligibility: 

  • Students must be aged 19 or under on 31st August in the academic year they start their programme. 
  • Must meet Education Funding Agency residency criteria. 
  • Conditions of Payment: 
  • Good attendance and punctuality 
  • Commitment to studies 
  • Adherence to the student code of conduct 

How to Apply:

Families should complete the 16–19 Bursary Fund Application Form and provide supporting evidence (e.g., proof of income, benefits, or care status). 
Payments are made directly to the student’s bank account on a termly basis.
