The Leading Parent Partnership Award

This award supports our commitment to working in close partnership with all parents and carers, which is central to our Nexus values.

By strengthening relationships between home and school, we create a supportive, inclusive environment where pupils feel secure, valued and ready to learn. Increased parental involvement is closely linked to improved pupil progress, punctuality, attendance and behaviour.

The framework encourages parents and carers to play an active role in their children’s learning, helping to build confidence, resilience and positive outcomes across all aspects of school life.

At Nexus School, we are using the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) to further strengthen our approach to partnership working. LPPA is a nationally recognised award that supports school improvement while recognising our commitment to open communication, collaboration and shared responsibility for pupil success.

Through the LPPA, we aim to:

  • The school is committed to achieving the LPPA.
  • The school creates and implements effective plans to achieve and maintain the LPPA.
  • The school is a welcoming and communicative environment for parents.
  • The school encourages all parents to participate in their children's learning and offers joint parent-child activities.
  • The school provides a strong induction for new parents.
  • The school offers clear, helpful information to support parents in their children's learning.
  • The school creates parent-friendly policies to improve home-school links, attendance, punctuality, progress, and participation.
  • The school supports parents as their children transition through or leave the school.
  • The school reviews its LPPA progress and outlines future plans.

What can parents or carers do to support the LPPA:

  • Read all newsletters, letters, and communications we send.
  • Attend events we organize, if possible.
  • Complete any questionnaires or feedback forms honestly.
  • Sign up for and actively use Evidence for Learning.
