Early Years Information

Our Early Years provision is firmly rooted in the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum, with a strong emphasis on the power of play as a vehicle for learning.

We are committed to creating a stimulating, engaging, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and inspired to explore, discover, and thrive.

We design our curriculum to reflect the individual needs and interests of each child, ensuring that learning experiences are purposeful, challenging, and enjoyable. Through carefully planned opportunities—indoors and outdoors—children are encouraged to consolidate existing skills, develop new ones, and encounter exciting challenges that promote curiosity and independence.

Our philosophy is underpinned by a belief that children learn best when they are happy, secure, and actively involved in play-based experiences. This approach is supported by a high-quality, caring environment and a curriculum that is broad, balanced, and responsive, enabling every child to make excellent progress across all areas of learning.

Structure of the EYFS

Classes: We operate EYFS classes across two sites—two Reception classes at our main Tonbridge site and one at our satellite provision within Wouldham Primary School.

Staffing: Each Reception class is led by a qualified teacher, supported by a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), ensuring expert guidance and personalised support.

Attendance: Reception children attend full time, benefiting from a consistent and structured routine that promotes security and confidence.
