Nexus News 05/06/2026
We’re excited to have everyone back after the incredibly hot half term! This term is choc-full of so many events, from our big end of year trips, to the Summer Fair, National Sports Week and many more among all the classes. As we do approach the summer heat we want to remind parents to please send in suncream, hats, water bottles and anything else your child may need to help with the weather.
Circling back round to our end of year trips, we are looking forward to next week’s Chessington trip. With the trip approaching in less than a week, we would like to remind parents to please check the weather beforehand and provide your child with the appropriate clothing if they are going.
This term is also when we will say goodbye to some of our students as they leave for college, work and other schools. To celebrate our leavers they will be offered a variety of trips from places such as Wildwood, The Creed and others organised per class.
There is also our Sports Week coming up between the 6th and 10th of July and It is bursting at the seams with all sorts of activities going on. We hope to see as many children as possible enjoying the events throughout the week.
We have also had some more student written work published on the website. A pupil from Post-16 this week has written a piece about their class's time in a care home. They spoke about what they got up to and opportunities that may arise for other students in Nexus for the future. If curious, please follow this link to read.
We hope you’ve all had a nice first week back and are also looking forward to all that is planned for the coming weeks!
