The End of Term 1
Welcome back everyone to another week of Nexus News. This week we are saying goodbye to a special member of staff and we have a few messages regarding next term's events as well.
We start this week off with a goodbye to a very special member of staff. Claire, who has been with us for over 20 years and has been a friendly face for everyone who has entered the building. From students and staff to parents and carers, Claire would be one of the first people to greet you and always with a friendly smile. We at Nexus wish Claire the best for what’s next and a massive thank you for everything that she has done at Nexus over the years.
Next there are a few announcements. Firstly, we have our very own HalloNexus event on the 6th of November. Children (and staff) are welcome to come dressed in their favourite fancy dress, characters or whatever they would like to be dressed as.
Then a few weeks after on the 28th of November, is this year’s Nexus Christmas Fair. It will be full of stalls selling homemade goods, toys, handmade cards and many other exciting products to buy on the day. The event is free to enter but we suggest bringing cash as some vendors may not take card or contactless payments.
Our Parent Makaton Sessions are returning, these are great opportunities to expand your knowledge of Makaton signs in more specific categories. Next term we have our celebration sign session on the 18th of November and a Christmas Signs session on the 17th of December. These are both in person and online events for anyone to attend. If you are interested, please get in touch.
Lastly, we have many Christmas events planned for next term. Both on-site and off-site, there is something planned that will appeal to everyone. There are even times when parents and carers can get involved. Further details will come throughout next term so keep your eyes peeled on Class Dojo, the website and other forms of communication.
Thank you all for being part of our first term back. We hope that you all have lovely half-term and we are looking forward to seeing you all again.
