Artwork through colour and light

This week PMLD students explored neon UV paints and light. Students were encouraged to make their own marks using brightly coloured paints before experiencing their artwork under a UV light. The marks and colours became illuminated in the dark, creating an engaging visual and sensory experience.

The activity provided opportunities to explore cause and effect, visual tracking, colour, movement and mark making, while allowing students to experience how their artwork could change when viewed under different lighting.

Throughout the project, students have experienced pattern and colour in ways appropriate to their individual needs and pathways. From artist studies, scale, complementary colour and mixed media to sensory exploration, switches, sound, scent and UV light, students have been given different ways to explore, make choices, experiment and create.
