The start of a exciting new year here at Nexus

We welcome everyone back to school for the start of a new academic year. This is the time of year where we have lots of new students and staff starting here at Nexus, we would like to start by welcoming you all and we look forward to seeing every one of you learn and grow throughout your time here. This term we are also welcoming our new therapy dog Willow. She is full of energy, ready to play and currently being guided by our wonderful therapy dog Luna.

As the term starts, so does our learning. Here we have had our new topic start-up for this term which is focusing on identity and belonging. Alongside the new topics; we also have drama, art, forest school and cooking for our students to participate and explore.

With our on-site learning we also have our off-site trips where children across the school have been accessing a wide range of opportunities. Our Post-16 students have been practicing their hospitality skils in their cafe that they run as well as visiting their cafe in Tonbrisge High Street. Some of Secondary students are learning to fish and our Primary classes have been horse riding and exploring a local farm, and this is just a small example of  activities on offer..

We would also like to remind you that next week on Friday 25th September, we have our Colour Run and we hope to see many parents and carers joining in with their children. If you would like to send in sponsorship money, please either send directly or place in an envelope in your child’s bag.

Now we come to the end of our second week back, we hope that everyone is looking forward to what’s in store for the rest of this term.
