Singing Hands came to Nexus!
Once again here at Nexus, we have been using the sunshine to its fullest, whether classes have been going off-site or using the outside areas on-site. Although it will not be as sunny this weekend, we hope that everyone enjoys the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend.
This week at Nexus we had the incredibly talented Singing Hands visit us. Singing Hands are a talented duo who take a wide range of songs and use Makaton to sign along with the lyrics. They are no strangers to Nexus and have visited many times. During their visits we make sure that every class gets to see them perform and they tailor the performance for each group. From Early Years all the way to our Post-16, they have songs for everyone.

Up and coming is our first MakaMay this month. Makaton is such a key part of how we communicate at Nexus and we want to celebrate that around the school. To help encourage signing to everyone prompts will be placed around the school with common phrases such as “Welcome to school” and “How are you today?”. There will also be an own clothes day on the 15th May where each class will be given their own theme to dress up as.
We hope you enjoy the long weekend and will see you again Tuesday!
