Official Opening Ceremony of the Wooden Spoon Sensory Room
On Friday 27th April 2018, a ceremony was held to mark the official opening of the Wooden Spoon Sensory Room, named in recognition of the generosity of the Wooden Spoon Charity.
Martin Corry MBE, a living legend in the world of Rugby, unveiled a commemorative plaque and met some of our students.
The bespoke room houses a variety of sensory stimulating equipment - bright fibre-optic lights, bubble tubes and a screen that projects interactive images on the floor to name but a few.
It is designed to enhance children’s sensory skills, hand-eye co-ordination, concentration and levels of alertness.
Official guests, who included representative from local football clubs, school Governors and the Wooden Spoon Rugby Manager, were taken on a tour of the school to see other facilities at Nexus, including the Hydrotherapy pool.
