ODD ADHD

ADHD ODD Conduct 09.11.20

This course will give an overview of ADHD, ODD and Conduct Disorders:

The objectives is to raise awareness of the medical issues and consider some of the possible causes, extend the range of practical strategies available to enable inclusion within school/classroom settings and incorporating relevant ADHD guidance and to consider the different approaches needed for ODD and conduct disorders.

Autism awareness seconday

ASD Awareness Secondary 3.12.20

What is Autism Spectrum Disorder/Condition? This course will consider the impact of social interaction and communication on the individual and look at the impact the environment can have on young people. There will be a focus on strategies and interventions to support. Following the training, delegates will be better able to understand behaviours and equipped to provide practical strategies to support.

Dyscalculia

Dyscalculia 05.12.20

Dyscalculia This course will extend knowledge and understanding of Dyscalculia and maths difficulties, providing practical strategies to support children within these areas.

Autism awareness EY

Early Years ASD Training 10.12.20

This training will focus on:

  • What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?

  • The impact of social interaction and communication on an individual;

  • The impact the environment can have on a child with a focus on strategies and interventions to support;

  • Understanding behaviours and provide practical strategies to support children.

EY Emotional Regulation

Early Years Emotional Regulation 12.11.20

This course aims to:

  • Help identify difficulties and issues associated with children with emotional and social challenges in the EYFS.

  • Identify how the environment in your setting impacts on children’s behaviours.

  • Increase your confidence and skills to use strategies to support children with emotional and behavioural needs in Early Years settings.

EY intensive interaction

Early Years Intensive Interaction 14.12.20

This half day session is an opportunity to learn about Intensive Interaction from Specialist Speech and Language Therapists. The session will focus on developing the 'fundamentals of communication' using intensive interaction. Delegates will learn how to engage, play and develop shared attention with children who have speech, language and communication needs.

There are two opportunities to attend this session during the academic year.

EY Surgery

Early Years Surgery 9.11.20

Supported by STLS and Equality and Inclusion

This free drop-in session will provide an opportunity for SENCos/Managers/Key Persons to discuss all areas of concern about supporting children with possible SEND in an Early Years Setting prior to consideration of a LIFT referral.

You will have the opportunity to discuss relevant paperwork including Targeted Plans and Best Practice Guidance, as well as having queries about support agencies such as Portage and SENIF answered. Parental agreement to engage is not required as children will be discussed anonymously.
