This training introduces interoception, interoceptive awareness and the interoception curriculum designed by Kelly Mahler. This sensory system, interoception, relates to our internal body states which underpins emotional understanding, regulation, behaviour, language, and social participation.
This course looks at the areas of executive function and how we can best support those children who are struggling with these skills. We will look at metacognition (or ‘thinking about thinking), and finish by looking at how these skills can lead to independent learning, and how we can provide strategies to develop these skills further.

Phonics for SEND
Phonics plays an integral role in our ability to read and write. This course looks at all aspects of phonological awareness and the ways in which these can be taught to enable successful readers and writers.
This course is designed to equip SENCos, teachers and teaching assistants with an understanding of the barriers that Dyslexia presents to learning, alongside practical strategies for supporting learners in the classroom.
Autism & Girls
March 21st 9.30 - 12.30 Venue: STLS - Nexus Specialist School
This course aims to provide knowledge, advice and strategies for supporting girls on the Autistic Spectrum. Topics include; how autism can present in girls, what challenges girls with autism may face at school and strategies to support girls with autism in school.
This training explores the diagnostic criteria for Autism, children's different presentations, strengths and difficulties, and classroom strategies that support inclusion.
Dyslexia Awareness Training - 1 hour
This course offers an overview of Dyslexia and the resources available to support dyslexic learners. Following the course, you will get access to a resource pack that supports this training.
Girls and Autism Awareness - 1 hour
This training explores the unique presentations of girls on the spectrum and recommends strategies and resources to support girls' wellbeing and inclusion.
Please be aware, to access this training we recommend you complete the Autism Awareness Training first.
Zones of Regulation Training - 50mins
The Zones of Regulation is a cognitive-behavioural approach used to teach students how to regulate their feelings, energy and sensory needs, in order to meet the demands of the situations around them and be successful socially. This training will introduce you to the zones, and the pathway through the zones program, strategies and differentiating the zones program.
